105W TDP Mode for Ryzen 9700X/9600X comes to Gigabyte and Asus motherboards

Initially introduced as an MSI-exclusive feature, AMD's 105W TDP mode has been confirmed as an official feature. Initially introduced by MSI for the Ryzen 7 9700X and the Ryzen 5 9600X, this capability has now been added by Asus and Gigabyte through their latest pre-release BIOS updates.
The 105W TDP setting increases the default TDP for the Ryzen 9700X/9600X CPUs, which typically operate at 65W. MSI has taken the lead by incorporating this option into its latest beta BIOS for many 600-series motherboards, released last month. However, Asus and Gigabyte are now catching up by launching their own BETA BIOS based on AGESA 1.2.0.1a for 600-series motherboards.

Asus's renowned in-house overclocker Safedisk (via Wccftech) has shared the download links for the new BETA BIOS for Asus 600-series Crosshair, Strix, TUF and ProArt boards. Meanwhile, Gigabyte has made the updated BIOS accessible through the product support page. We recommend that users exercise caution and refrain from downloading experimental BIOS versions, instead waiting for the official launch of the new BIOS based on AGESA 1.2.0.2, which will introduce official support for the new 105W TDP mode.
Future 800-series motherboards should include the new BIOS by default, removing the need for users to update themselves.
KitGuru says: Do you have a system running a Ryzen 7 9700X or a Ryzen 5 9600X? Will you update the BIOS to test the new mode or wait for its official release? The post 105W TDP Mode for Ryzen 9700X/9600X comes to Gigabyte and Asus motherboards first appeared on KitGuru.
