Things are not perfect in the house of Tarlos. As the 9-1-1: Lone Star couple approaches their one-year wedding anniversary, Carlos (Rafael Silva) has been spending his evenings pouring himself into his work as a Texas Ranger and investigating his father's murder — which apparently leaves him too tired to spend time with TK (Ronen Rubinstein). In a preview clip exclusive to Entertainment Weekly from season 5, episode 5 of the Fox first responder drama, Tarlos are seen getting hot and heavy only for TK to realize Carlos has fallen asleep.

"He fell asleep during sexy time," TK tells the therapist. "No one has ever fallen asleep on me during sexy time." Carlos pleads with TK to stop saying sexy time and the conversation quickly pivots to the underlying issue leading to Carlos' exhaustion."This one scene has everything you can want from Tarlos: We have the drama, the comedy, the intimacy, all packed into one scene," Rubinstein tells EW of the exclusive clip. But that's not the only reason the actor was excited to film the therapy session. Rubinstein says Lone Star co-creator Tim Minear and co-showrunner Rashad Raisani have long been aware that he is a "big fan of Brad Pitt's career," and they created the scene as a direct homage to Pitt's film Mr. & Mrs. Smith. "They even called it out in the script," says the star. "They even shot it like they shot the therapy scene in the movie. They always like to sprinkle in Easter eggs for me. It was really cool."

"From an actor's perspective, it was really, really lovely and rewarding to be able to do something like that, because we don't really get that very often. I love that they switched up the formula for us and made it about Tarlos' relationship. I think it's a huge sign of appreciation for Rafa and me."9-1-1: Lone Star season 5, episode 5, "Thunderstruck," airs Monday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly.
