If women will really be having more sex with men than Robots in the future

By TRACEY COX FOR MAILONLINE
The world is changing at a rapid rate – and that includes what’s going on in our bedrooms.
It’s speculated that by 2050, human-robot sex will be more common than human-human sex.
Not sure that’s for you? Read on before you make up your mind…
Women will have (better) sex with a robot
Sex robots won’t be as common as smartphones anytime soon but within the next decade or two they will be in our bedrooms.
There’s little we can do to stop them… and plenty of reasons why we shouldn’t.
Sexbot research is currently directed at developing female sex robots for straight men – that’s the largest market for porn, so where they think all the money will be made.

But women could be far more open to sexbots than manufacturers think.
Think about it. Women already use sex toys and don’t care if the toy looks anything like a man or his bits.
Our porn habits are much more varied than men’s and our sexuality is more fluid.
In other words, we’re more open to thinking outside the square than society thinks.
A tech orgasm every single time
Robots will have limitless anatomical potential – which means they’ll solve the age-old problem heterosexual couples have.
Only 25 per cent of women orgasm purely through intercourse. This is because most orgasms originate from clitoral stimulation - and the clitoris is outside the vagina.
A sex robot for women could have an in-built vibrator to stimulate the clitoris and a penis shaped like a G-spot vibe, with a bulbous curved end to stimulate the front vaginal wall (another hot spot).
Instead of NOT having an orgasm 80 per cent of the time, we’d have an intense, blended orgasm 100 per cent of the time.
Porn will be virtual and highly personalised
Virtual sex is set to be so commonplace, virtual porn stars might become more popular than human ones. You can already find a virtual sex worker in certain online locations (for a fee).
AI created avatars, haptic suits (that enable us to feel touch from a distance) and teledildonics (virtual sex encounters using networked electronic sex toys that mimic human sex) are all well advanced.
A nanobot network installed in your brain is the most likely way all of this will work together to deliver what could possibly be the best sex of your life.

Supercharged fantasies
AI generated partners that look, sound and respond exactly how we want will be at your fingertips.
Not only does this mean we’ll be able to have sex with the hottest, more desirable well-known people in the world, there are other appealing (and simultaneously scary) options.
Don’t want to cheat on your partner but can’t stop thinking about a flirtatious colleague or your boss? Recreate them via future apps and do your dirtiest.
Can’t stop thinking about the great sex you had with an ex? Have it with them as often as you like onscreen.
If the word ‘consent’ is screaming out at you - yes - the moral and ethical implications of all this are many.
Sex in the metaverse puts a spin on monogamy
For those not in the know, the metaverse is an immersive 3D world where people can work, play and interact. Sex and romance included.

In a gaming-style environment not far in the future, we’ll connect and enjoy immersive sexual experiences with like-minded people.
Mark Zuckerberg talks a lot about augmented reality: where digital images are superimposed onto the physical world.
Augmented reality glasses (smart glasses) could take the monotony out of monogamy. Pop on a pair and change how your partner looks: make them more attractive – or turn them into someone else completely.
Haptic technology allows for the simulation of touch without someone physically being with you, so it won’t just be your eyes that are stimulated.
The ‘Teslasuit’ already uses neuromuscular electrical stimulation to make the person wearing it ‘feel’ anything from a breeze to bumping into a wall. It’s mighty weird looking now but you can bet future models won’t be.
Your grandkids might end up with an AI partner
Technology companies are working hard to develop AI entities that can form emotional and romantic bonds with users.
A percentage of people (mostly in Japan and China) already report forming intense emotional attachments to AI chatbots and other robots.

In a world where younger people are living more and more of their lives online – and becoming increasingly anxious - AI partners are predicted to be particularly appealing.
A (Hinge) report on Gen Z (currently 13 to 28 now) found more than 90 per cent of its Gen Z users want to find love but fear of rejection stopped them seeking it.
While they crave IRL (in real life) connections (82 per cent say they’re lonely) they search for connections on their phone.
For a generation who finds dating and sex highly stressful, predictable and reliable interactions with an AI ‘companion’ might be far more attractive.
Your Rabbit will be obsolete
AI is already revolutionising sex toys – but the best is yet to come.
Future toys will have personalised stimulation programs - and we’re not talking remembering which pattern of vibration you most enjoy.
Your toy will become humanised by AI, creating extraordinarily personal interactive features.
People with access to 3D printers can already design and customise their very own sex toy and print them at home.

The pros of progress
There are obvious concerns about these innovations.
There are justified fears that sex robots programmed to satisfy every dark desire of men will fuel misogyny and objectification of women. You’ll find a wealth of information on the negative side anywhere you choose to look.
But there are plenty of positives as well.
Less sex-in-person interaction means less STIs or unwanted pregnancies. It also means almost everyone will be able to find a way to have sex with another ‘being’.
Sexbots will help facilitate sex for people who can’t find a human partner. Technology has already had a profound effect on the sex lives of men with spinal injuries, erectile disfunction and other disabilities.
Mismatched sex drives will also be less of a problem: let the sexbot step in when you’re not in the mood!
Fears that robots will replace ‘real’ sex are unfounded, in my opinion. Everyone said vibrators would make women not ‘need’ men and that didn’t happen.
However efficient or clever sex technology becomes, it can’t compete with the joy of holding a warm body against yours.
