Sunny Hostin Reveals How She Almost Died On The Show
Based on what Sunny Hostin had to say recently, things took a dramatic turn for her while filming the show, and it was a real life-or-death situation for her. This time around, it wasn’t because of a hot take that she expressed on the program, but something else entirely.
It turns out, there was a cooking segment on the show, as Debbie Matenopoulos was a guest. She was there to promote a new cookbook. It’s not uncommon for there to be new recipes for the ladies on the panel to try. Unfortunately for Sunny Hostin, she ended up eating something with walnuts in it, despite having a walnut allergy.
According to Hostin, she went on to say, “I almost died on the show. We had our former co-host Debbie Matenopoulos and she had this wonderful Greek food. I have a terrible allergy to walnuts and as I’m eating the food, Alyssa [Farah Griffin] asks, ‘Are those walnuts in here?’ And she says, ‘Yes.’”

What Happened To Sunny Hostin On The View?
Speaking more about this scary situation on The View, Sunny Hostin said, “I panic immediately and I write a death note to Alyssa, which basically says, ‘I am allergic to walnuts.’ And she responds, ‘Oh, no!’ And I’m looking at [executive producer Brian Teta] and he’s like, ‘Is everything OK?’ No, it’s not.”
Luckily for Sunny Hostin, Disney nurses were on hand to save the day and save her life. Hostin said, “They are like superheroes. They came in with a cape. She had an EpiPen, she was testing me, I had Benadryl.”
Hostin also made sure to acknowledge her co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin, saying, “She was great in the moment because I panicked.”
