The park holds significance for Puerto Rico as a cultural and educational landscape, celebrating both the island’s rich history and achievements in science and technology. “The park was first constructed in 1989 and is nostalgic for many Puerto Ricans,” Jorge tells Parents. “It closed after Hurricane Maria.” Newly transformed, the park now includes upgraded technology, along with food and beverage service. Currently, the park has filled nearly 800 direct jobs, and has partnerships with NASA and Guinness World Records, which hosts educational domes with themes changing every three months—meaning, there’s always a new reason to visit. “The park holds 12,000 to 15,000 people at a time, but we limit it to 5,000 guests to avoid overcrowding,” Jorge says. “We’ve also created packages with hotels and those guests will always get tickets.” Additionally, this park was designed with neurodiversity in mind and features sensory-friendly experiences and spaces, ensuring all visitors, regardless of age or ability, can explore the park’s wonders. Additionally, there are ramps and other accommodations throughout the park, displaying their commitment to accessibility.
