After India's victory, Rohit retired from T20Is, which led to Suryakumar's appointment as the new T20I captain of the Indian team. Rohit continued to remain India's Test and ODI captain. He recently led India to a 2-0 Test series victory against Bangladesh, which has put the national team on the cusp of qualification for the 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) final.
