2026 No. 1-Ranked CB Elbert Hill Wants to Visit Kentucky in the Summer
Kentucky football is pushing for some elite prospects in the 2026 class. One of those names is top-ranked cornerback Elbert Hill.
The 5-foot-10, 170-pound cornerback from Archbishop Hoban (Akron, OH) received an offer from Kentucky on May 16. He told KSR+ that he’s already looking to take a visit.
“I should be getting out there in the summer,” Hill said. “I’d like to come out there and visit.”
Hill said he knows several players on Kentucky’s team. He’s excited to see them on a visit.
“I know it’s a very good program,” he said. “They put a lot of corners in the league. I’m just looking to see what they have.”
Hill believes he’d fit in “very well” with the Kentucky defense. He wants to see player development and how they work together as a team during his visit.
His Wider Recruitment
Elbert Hill is just getting started with the recruitment, but it’s ramping up quickly. He already holds offers from Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Pitt, USC, Miami, Central Michigan, Temple, Louisville, Purdue, and Wisconsin, among others.
“It’s been amazing,” Hill said. “I’ve talked to a lot of people and feel very blessed.”
Hill has visited several schools for spring practices. Recently, he’s been to Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, and Purdue. Next, he wants to visit some West Coast schools.
Entering his junior season, Hill is looking to wait another year before his college commitment. He wants to commit right before his senior year.
“[I’m looking at] development and knowing the coaches,” he said. “I want to have a healthy relationship with the coaches. I’m also looking at education.”
Elbert Hill’s Game
Four-star cornerback Elbert Hill of Akron (Oh.) Archbishop Hoban is the nation’s No. 23 overall prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks Hill as the No. 13 player overall, the top-ranked cornerback, and the overall best player in Ohio.
“[My greatest strength is] knowing which spots players want to get to and where the ball is going to be placed,” Hill said.
Moving forward, Hill is looking to improve his tackling. He feels he can fit in a variety of schemes.
“I know how to play man and zone,” he said. “I can play different spots on defense.”
