‘The Bachelor’ Season 29 Contestant Litia Garr’s Family Guide
Litia Garr has not forgotten her roots while dating Grant Ellis on season 29 of The Bachelor.
“My mom and dad met in college in Hawaii. My mom is from Idaho, she’s white, and my dad is from Fiji. They fell in love and they got married and they had me,” Litia said during a February episode. “When I was 3 years old, my dad passed away in a car accident. My mom is my greatest example of strength and resilience because I can’t imagine losing my husband and having a little baby at that time. And she was, like, 23.”
Litia became emotional as she reflected on her loved ones’ support through the years. “My grandparents and my mom’s siblings, like my aunts and uncles, made me feel so loved and so special,” Litia said. “I just feel, like, really lucky to have my support system.”
Ahead of introducing Grant to her family, Litia told the lead that her home is “very, very conservative” and shared that she was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
“It completely shaped the kind of family that I want to raise my kids in,” she told Grant during a one-on-one date. “I want God to be a part of my marriage and I want my kids to grow up in a house where they know that God loves them and they’re important and their parents love them, and there’s nothing they can do that would ever make them not loved. That’s very, very important to me.”

After sharing her past with Grant, Litia and the season 29 lead FaceTimed her mom, Maurie Garr. “She was saying how much she missed you, and I figured we’d give you a call just to say hi,” Grant explained to Litia’s mom, who said she was “so glad” the pair called.
“I’m really grateful that I got to talk to my mom tonight. I’m so glad that she got to meet Grant and that Grant got to see a little bit of what I was talking about in our conversation,” Litia said in a confessional. “It meant a lot to me.
Litia’s Dad
Litia revealed that her father, who is from Fiji and went to college in Hawaii, died in a car accident when she was an infant. “Even though he’s gone, I still feel his love,” Litia said in her intro package. “I still feel his love and his presence in my life.”
