Deion Sanders sends ‘prayers’ message to fans after Colorado Buffaloes head coach announces cancer diagnosis
DEION Sanders has sent a message to fans after announcing his cancer diagnosis.
In a short-notice press conference on Monday, Sanders revealed he quietly had surgery to remove bladder cancer.

Sanders‘ doctor was present to discuss how a tumor was discovered on his bladder and how it was treated.
“The process wasn’t easy,” Sanders said.
The Colorado Buffaloes head coach underwent surgery that removed his bladder in order to cure the cancer.
He is now cancer free, but his quality of life will be forever altered.
Sanders shared a message thanking fans for support during his health struggles now that he will be able to return to coaching.
“I want to Thank everyone that prayed, thought of my journey & ask God to intervene,” he wrote on X.
“I appreciate u so much. Without prayer where would we be.
“Also thank u for your friendship your faithfulness & your spirit that exudes Peace.”
Before his cancer diagnosis was announced, Sanders revealed in a video that he was so worried about his health that he wrote a will.
“Mentally, emotionally, last night was tough, yesterday was tough, because I had to make a will,” he said.
“That’s not easy at all, to think that you may not be here.”
It is now confirmed that Sanders will be here to coach in 2025 and beyond.
However, coaching won’t be easy while he manages life after having his bladder removed.
“I depend on Depend if you know what I mean,” Sanders said.
“I cannot control my bladder. So I get up to go to the bathroom already 4-5 times a night.
“And I’m sitting there waking up like my grandson. We in the same thing.
“We got the same problem right now. We’re going through the same trials and tribulations.”
He hopes to be an inspiration for those dealing with similar diagnoses who see him on the sidelines at Colorado games.
“It’s just totally different and I know there’s a lot of people out there going through what I am going through and dealing with what I am dealing with and let’s stop being ashamed of it and let’s deal with it,” he said.
“And let’s deal with it head on.”
