Charlie Stayt puts bankruptcy fears behind him as he returns to BBC Breakfast – before show is brutally cut short
BBC Breakfast star Charlie Stayt has made a return to the morning show after his potential bankruptcy woes were revealed for the first time.
The Sun told how earlier this week how the 61-year-old presenter and his wife broadcaster Anne, 58, were both served petitions by HMRC on Monday.

In a studio shake-up, Charlie was missing from the BBC studio after being sent on location to Normandy in France for a special live edition of the show.
It marked the first time that he has been seen on-screens since his financial problems were exposed.
Charlie’s absence from the Salford studio meant that Naga Munchetty was forced to host alone in a rare move.
Weather presenter Carol Kirkwood was also spotted hosting on-location as she brought Britain up to speed with the latest weather live from the HMS Belfast ship on the River Thames in another nod to the special live broadcast.
The BBC had opted for a special morning broadcast to commemorate the anniversary of D-Day.
It follows a week of special programming dedicated to the event of World War 2 on the BBC after evening magazine show The One Show featured a similar style shake-up.
The shake-ups on the programme continues after the Beeb opted to cut short the programme by an hour in another unusual move.
This was to allow live coverage of the 80th anniversary of D-Day in a show entitled We Will Remember Them.
The live special is scheduled to air from 8:30am through until 10:45am.
Charlie made no reference to the recent bankruptcy revelations as he remained professional and focused as he reported on the serious events at hand.
Days ago, The Sun exclusively revealed how his firm Stayt Limited was £6,409 in the red in accounts filed in December and covering to the end of March 2023.
Charlie and his wife, who have two children, bought their four-bedroom home in Twickenham, South West London, for £800,000 in 2002, and it is now worth up to £2.3million.
