Human Remains Found While Contractors Repaired Pipes: Yorkville PD
YORKVILLE, IL — Contractors discovered human remains Wednesday while fixing existing water pipes Wednesday in the 200 block of Park Street, according to Yorkville police.Crews were digging a trench to complete the repairs when they hit the bones, prompting a response from the Yorkville Police Department and Kendall County Coroner's Office, who made a preliminary determination that the remains were human.With the help of the Kendall County Historical Society, law enforcement officials said they learned that the site was occupied by a cemetery in the 1840s and 1850s.
