Today marks 12 months since the Monarch’s coronation – where the nation came to a standstill then celebrated the newly crowned royal.

It’s been a rollercoaster of a year for the Firm – from dozens of royal engagements to King Charles and Princess Kate announcing their cancer battles.
But alongside all of that, the Royal Family has been dodging bombs lobbed at them by Meghan and Harry.
The Sussexes have now been accused of launching unfair attacks on the Royal Family, while cashing in on their ties to the Firm.
And it’s those factors that royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams says has ruined Charles first year as king.
He said the Sussexes being evicted from Frogmore Cottage saw them retaliate.
Richard told The Sun: “The facts simply are with Harry and Megan that after Spare enough was enough so he had them evicted from Frogmore Cottage, and I don’t think they expected it.
“And they certainly didn’t like it.
“But the revelations in Spare, and not only the attacks on the Royal Family in that book and in the interviews surrounding it, which large numbers of people, watched, of course that Harry was responsible for, and it was his memoir.”
The expert said that while Spare had been released the year prior, the wake of it was still having an impact on the king’s reign.
Richard continued: “Spare was so badly planned you felt that he’d not had advice, but to attack Queen Camilla was clearly a red line, as was pointed out by the press that he’s so hostile to.
“Therefore it was important that the King acted as he did.”
Richard also accused Harry and Meghan of “monetising on their links to the Royal Family“.
He added: “There’s no doubt that evicting the Sussexes from their domicile in the UK was something that showed immense royal displeasure.
“And, I think it was absolutely right to have done it.
“There’s also no doubt that the row with her with Omid Scobie later in the year and all of that was also very, very unhelpful.
“But what one’s not going to get now and the Sussex is they monetize their connections with the Royal Family.”
He added: “They will forever, it seems, be in the news and precisely how they behave and what they decide to do a matter for them obviously.”
Harry and Meghan betrayals
Oprah interview
Harry and Meghan’s explosive chat with Oprah Winfrey saw them make a series of bombshell revelations.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed no subject was “off limits” during the explosive chat in March 2021.
The interview unlocked a host of jaw-dropping remarks, racking up over 6,000 complaints from British viewers and even prompting a response from the Queen.
This included a claim that two royals allegedly questioned the colour of Prince Archie’s skin tone.
Meghan left jaws dropping after addressing her and Kate’s bridesmaid dress row after telling Oprah Kate made HER cry in the lead up to her wedding.
Meg told Oprah it had been difficult to see a “narrative that didn’t happen” surface after it was reported she left Kate in tears over her demands for Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.
She instead told the chat show Queen: “The reverse happened.”
Spare
There was more to come in Harry’s book, as he recalled an alleged altercation with his brother William which ended with him falling into a dog bowl.
He also revealed how William disapproved of Harry’s marriage to Meghan and once called her “difficult,” “rude” and “abrasive.”
Harry’s father King Charles was also in the firing line for criticism. Harry laid into his father for not hugging him after the death of his mother, Diana, the late Princess of Wales, and claimed the King would often make jokes of “poor taste” about his paternity.
Kate, who Harry once hailed as the ‘sister I never had’, and stepmother Camilla were also not spared in the attack.
The Princess of Wales was accused of being cold towards her sister-in-law Meghan and claimed she was “disgusted” when Meghan asked to use her lipgloss.
He also partially blamed Kate and William for his decision to wear the controversial Nazi uniform to a fancy dress party in 2005, claiming they both “howled” when they saw him.
Netflix show
Harry and Meghan’s Netflix docuseries lobbed bombs at The Firm – seeing it torn apart by royal experts.
To the shock of many it told stories of Meghan’s “jarring” first meeting with Princess Kate and Harry making digs at his father.
But, despite the attention it drew, it didn’t even rank in the top 200 most-watched Netflix shows from January to June last year.
The doc was pulled to pieces for giving examples of “truths”, which didn’t seem to stand up to reality.
As the privacy-loving couple whined about their struggles in the final part of their Netflix docuseries, they glossed over some important details.
Also, in an apparent dig at his dad King Charles’ parenting, Harry claimed he was “brought up” by friends in Africa.
The Sun has approached the Sussexes and Buckingham Palace for comment.
Richard was speaking as it was revealed Harry and Charles are set to have another reunion.
The duke will be at St Paul’s Cathedral for an Invictus Games ceremony and is understood to be “very keen” to see his dad.
They chatted for 30 minutes in February — days after the King’s cancer diagnosis.
The King, 75, recently cleared to resume public duties as he is treated for cancer, is expected to attend the year’s first Buckingham Palace garden party from 4pm.
Both events will finish around 6pm, clearing the way for a first meeting since Harry’s whistle-stop trip in early February.
A royal source told The Sun: “Harry is normally 5,000 miles away in California but by happy coincidence on Wednesday they will be just two miles apart.
“It’s clear he is keen to see his father as he continues his recovery and most people expect another reunion of some kind next week.”
The potential meeting is unlikely to include Prince William, who has been stung by his brother’s attacks and has not spoken to him since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
