‘Scream 7’ Actor Teases New Scene
Mason Gooding says Ghostface is at his 'most brutal' in the slasher franchise's upcoming entry.

Actor Mason Gooding is setting a pretty high bar up for the violence in Scream 7. For the newest flick in the slasher franchise, Neve Campbell returns as Sidney Prescott with Courteney Cox back as Gale Weathers. Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown return as Chad and Mindy, with original film star Matthew Lillard coming back as well.
A synopsis hasn’t been released for the new movie, which started filming last month, but there will be a new Ghostface killer terrorizing fresh victims. Gooding spoke with Variety about what audiences could expect from the masked murderer this time around, including gnarly kills and a prosthetic that made him nearly lose his lunch.
“I think that Ghostface is absolutely the most brutal he’s been,” Gooding said. “I don’t want to spoil anything, but there’s some stuff they do to the human body that I feel like Kevin is breaking new ground with.”
Seeing the set-up for one of these kills was nearly too much for the actor.
“There was a prosthetic that sat in the makeup trailer that actually turned my stomach over,” he said. “You’ll know what I’m talking about when you see it, but it’s incredible stuff.”

Gooding was also stoked about the return of Kevin Williamson to be the new project’s director.
“It feels like an amplification of what’s came before, and there’s no better indication of that than Kevin Williamson, who wrote the original, coming back now to direct,” he said.
