ANNAPOLIS, MD — Restaurateurs on Friday announced the two eateries that will replace Pusser's Caribbean Grille when it closes this fall. The new tenant, Atlas Restaurant Group, will replace Pusser's with an upscale Italian chophouse and a tequila bar. The eateries will both overlook Ego Alley in downtown Annapolis.Atlas also owns The Choptank seafood restaurant a few doors away."We are incredibly excited to bring the distinctive flavors and experiences of Marmo and Armada to Annapolis," Atlas Restaurant Group CEO Alex Smith said in a press release this week. "These two concepts, along with The Choptank, will create a regional dining destination along Annapolis' City Dock where guests can enjoy 3 unique dining experiences."Marmo, this forthcoming Italian chophouse, will be one of two restaurants to replace Pusser's Caribbean Grille after it closes this November. The menu will feature steak, housemade pasta, fresh seafood, an extensive wine list and craft cocktails. Armada will serve tacos, burritos and quesadillas. Customers will be able to pair their meals with a wide selection of tequila and agave spirits. Armada will have 100 seats inside and 100 outside.Pusser's announced in October 2023 that it would close in November 2024. The restaurant said it opened in 1994 inside the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel on a 30-year lease. The hotel didn't renew the Pusser's lease, the eatery said. Pusser's hopes to eventually reopen in an undetermined location nearby."While we are very disappointed by the outcome of our lease negotiations, we certainly look forward to celebrating next year, our last year and our 30th Anniversary, with the Annapolis community," Pusser's Co-Owner Chris Townsend said in the October 2023 press release.A sketch of Armada shows that the tequila bar will have a cantina theme when it opens. The restaurant group expects to employ nearly 400 people across its three Annapolis locations.Atlas currently manages 34 properties across the country."Through this deal, we will transform the hotel into a culinary destination that will not only delight locals, but also attract visitors from near and far," Smith said in an October 2023 press release. "With The Choptank restaurant, the addition of the hotel’s two new restaurant concepts, and a best-in-class banquet and events space, Atlas will now operate three waterfront restaurant concepts with unique food and beverage offerings at three different price points, creating a regional waterfront dining and entertainment district for the city of Annapolis."Additional restaurant renderings and details are posted here.Related: 2 New Restaurants Will Replace Pusser's When It Closes In AnnapolisPusser's Closing Annapolis Restaurant Next Year: ReportThe article Atlas Replacing Pusser's With Marmo, Armada At City Dock's Ego Alley appeared first on Annapolis, MD Patch.
