The Wall Group, the talent management company that represented Nation, released a statement mourning his death on Wednesday.
“Graham Nation was a one-of-a-kind soul who impacted every single person he met with his kindness and compassion,” the company’s statement posted on Instagram Stories said. “We are honored to have been part of his journey and to have helped him share his artistry with the world. Our hearts are broken and we miss him dearly.”
A subsequent post on Instagram Stories directed fans to a fundraiser on GoFundMe and urged, “Please join us in keeping his family in your thoughts and offering support if you are able.”
Nation’s death was “completely unexpected” and left his family “in a state of tragic shock and sorrow,” according to the fundraiser’s description. The page described Nation as a “true artistic visionary whose creative passions were only magnified” by the arrival of his son, who was 6 months old at the time of Nation’s death.
Less than 24 hours after it launched, the fundraiser had already exceeded its goal of collecting $150,000 in donations.
Just days before his death, Nation celebrated his recent collaboration with actress Catherine O’Hara, who starred in a recent Michelob Ultra commercial that aired during Super Bowl LIX. It was the “first ever Super Bowl commercial” that Nation worked on, he explained on Instagram.
Nation worked with several celebrities over the course of his career. His client roster included Venus Williams, Emma Chamberlain and Maddie Ziegler, among many others, according to The Wall Group.
