Nikita Kuzmin has issued an apology to a 00s popstar after making a ‘mortifying’ blunder during this weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Tonight saw Toyah Wilcox waltz away from the competition after she and Paul Merson faced off in the dance-off with their professional partners Neil Jones and Karen Hauer.
After being saved for another week, the remaining contestants chatted with host Claudia Winkleman to share what fans can look forward to when they next hit the dancefloor.
But Nikita, 26, and his celebrity contestant Sam Quek, 35, added a dash of confusion to their announcement after Nikita confused a key element of their performance.
When asked by The Traitors presenter Claudia if he could give fans a taste of what’s to come, he cheekily responded ‘Oh, I can give you more than a taste’ before revealing that they would be dancing the samba.

He then began to sing the iconic lyrics of Shakira’s Whenever, Wherever, as the rest of the cast who were sitting on the sofas with Claudia joined in with his hip-shaking dance moves.
But… it turned out that he was celebrating to the wrong song.

After the audience cheered along to Nikita and his castmates’ revelry, Claudia was forced to correct the pro’s mistake.
‘Nikita, I love you so much. It was the other Shakira song.’ she said, prompting Nikita to put his head in his hands as he realised his error.
‘How does that go?’ Claudia asked him, before Nikita butchered a rendition of Hips Don’t Lie for extra measure.
The couch then fell apart in peels of laughter as the dancer managed to mistakenly sing the wrong song not once, but twice.
Later, when Strictly posted the clip on Instagram, Nikita weighed in on his blunder, admitting that he’s ‘already started choreographing’ to the wrong Shakira song.
He then tagged the singer, adding: ‘OMG😆 sorry @shakira.’

The moment was hilarious and only excited fans even more for next week’s competition.
Last weekend, Tom Dean and Nadiya Bychkova became the first pair to be eliminated from the series, and now,Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones have also been axed.
We will have to wait until next week to see who else faces the chop!
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.20pm on BBC One and iPlayer, with the results show on Sunday at 7.20pm.
