Bayville Fire Department To Get New Truck
BERKELEY, NJ — The Bayville Volunteer Fire Company's Ladder Truck 1725 has responded to thousands of calls over the past 20 years, but it's now time for firefighters to get a new truck.The fire department announced that the firetruck "has reached its service life and will officially be replaced.""Residential, Commercial, and Industrial Structure Fires, Hurricane Sandy rescue missions, life threatening rescues, and mutual aid assignments providing aid to neighboring departments are just a few examples that Ladder 1725 has provided," the department said of the 10-foot 2003 Pierce Platform. "This unit is one of our front line pieces in our jurisdiction, and Berkeley Township."But as the township has grown and apparatus standards have changed, "it has become imperative to replace our oldest piece of apparatus to accommodate the additional and daily responsibilities of our firefighters," the department said.The department said that their Truck Committee submitted truck specifications to Fire and Safety Service LTD for a Pierce 100-foot Enforcer Tower Ladder."Thank you to Senator Amato for your initial support and approvals last year, Berkeley Township Mayor Bacchione for final submission and ensuring Berkeley Township First Responders obtain the necessary equipment to serve our community, Administration and Town Council for always standing with us, and those who made this project possible," the department said."Bayville Volunteer Fire Co. 1 will always continue to provide the best services to our neighbors and residents of Berkeley Township," the department said.The article Bayville Fire Department To Get New Truck appeared first on Berkeley, NJ Patch.
