Jake Paul Comes Clean on $15,000 Publicity Stunt Involving Michael Jordan’s Brand
The year was 2020, and a typical Jake Paul moment broke the internet. The influencer-turned-boxer had seized headlines throughout his initial career with some out-of-the-box antics and some not-so-common theatrics. During his Problem Child heyday, Paul grabbed attention when he posted a video featuring Reese’s Puffs cereal and a pair of highly coveted Dior x Air Jordan 1 sneakers. In the video, he was seen pouring the cereal into the sneakers and adding milk, before eating from them with a spoon. However, Paul has since come clean with a surprising revelation about that viral moment.
Paul, 27, appeared in an episode of Sneaker Shopping, where he admitted that the incident didn’t happen the way it seemed. When the host, Joe La Puma, asked about his viral moment with Dior x Air Jordan 1s, he disclosed that he didn’t do it exactly. Paul, at 10-1, continued and pointed out he didn’t actually pour milk on his $15k shoes. Rather, he used a red solo cup and placed it inside.

Jake Paul declared, “They were real Diors that I ate the Reese’s out of. But what we did was we cut a plastic red Solo cup in half and put it in there. So when I was pouring the milk in, it was just going right into the cup. I paid like $10-15k for them. So, I wasn’t going to f**k them up.”
It might come as a relief to the Air Jordan hierarchy and especially to Michael Jordan that his most iconic shoe had not been destroyed for a social media stunt. The fans had seen Jordans getting used for a shoey celebration, but not as a bowl for eating cereal. However, the Cleveland native has done more crazy things, and his most recent shenanigans with a bodysuit and a potbelly are also attracting eyeballs.
Jake Paul does it again!
Notably, ‘The Problem Child’ will have the biggest fight of his career, as he takes on Mike Tyson next. But when the former heavyweight champion tried to make fun of his fitness levels and his not-so “lean“ body, Paul turned it into a joke. He would then put on a body suit, try to showcase his training regime, hit his friend, and even groove to the beats of Usher’s iconic ‘Yeah!’.
It seems he has found his mark again, as he knows how to turn the narrative in his favor in the most comical way. Hilarious actions like these are the reason he has amassed a long following, and he continues to do so. Interestingly, he has molded these marketing strategies to now sell his boxing fights. Who thought he would go on from trying to ridicule Air Jordan to fighting ‘Iron Mike’ in a few years? That’s Paul for you.
