**News Release Submitted by The Ridgefield School of Dance**June 3, 2024The Ridgefield School of Dance extends congratulations to its Class of 2024 graduates as they take their final bows in this weekend’s show at the Ridgefield High School. In numerous productions here, the four dancers have repeatedly demonstrated their artistry and stage presence. The four seniors are Isabella Raduazzo and Phoebe Levitt of Ridgefield, Audrey Carr of New Canaan and Olivia Basile of Redding. All are members of the Ballet Pre-Professional Division and also perform with the Jazz Department.Stepping into the ballet studio just shy of three years old, Raduazzo has been a part of the school for her entire dance career. She is a member of the Pre-Professional division in ballet and also a member of the Jazz Company, taking fusion, contemporary and lyrical technique. Her favorite ballets she has performed in are Madeline (2018), Four Seasons, Swan Lake, and Alice in Wonderland. “My favorite part, though, was dancing the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy in this year’s Nutcracker Ballet,” she added. Heading to The University of Tampa, where she plans to major in English on a pre-law track with a dance minor to keep her head clear, she will perform in this spring’s performance in Giselle as Moyna, and in Madeline as the charming Mademoiselle Rose, one of the love interests of the sailor.Levitt joined the studio when she was eight with an interest in Jazz. From Jazz to Tap, she ultimately found her passion in ballet. From the effervescent Dew Drop Fairy in the Nutcracker Ballet to Madeline’s fiery Madame Rouge, she has performed in every Nutcracker, spring show and Jazz performance presented by the studio. A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Four Seasons, and Swan Lake are among her favorites. This June 8-9, in addition to her role in Madeline, and lighting up the boards in Dancing Out Loud by the Jazz department, she will perform as Myrtha, queen of the Wilis, in Giselle. After graduation, she is heading to Southern Methodist University on a dance scholarship to earn a BFA in Dance Performance. Since 2020, Carr has been making the trip from New Canaan to the studio four days a week to dance with the Pre-Professional division. She began dancing at age three and joined the Ridgefield School of Dance her freshman year of high school. Carr’s roles include lead Butterfly in Midsummer Night’s Dream, a Petit Cygnes in Swan Lake, Dew Drop Fairy and Snow Queen in Nutcracker Ballet. This spring she will perform the role of Zulma in Giselle and the tender role of Madame Verde in Madeline. Nutcracker is her favorite ballet because of the magic it brings to the holiday season, not to mention her favorite roles of Dew Drop and Snow Queen. Next fall, Carr will be off to Dickinson College, where she plans a major in education. Having already mastered balancing the rigors of her dance and academic schedule, she will continue her dance training with the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. From Redding, Olivia Basile transferred to Ridgefield School of Dance in fall 2021. With her focus on Ballet, she also takes a modern fusion class to round out her dance education. This past year, Basile danced the role of the very sassy Rat Queen in Nutcracker and also as Chinese Tea in Land of the Sweets. She will perform as Miss Clavel on June 8-9 as well as in Giselle, and the jazz department’s Dancing out Loud.Basile will attend Florida State University this fall, where she will major in biochemical engineering and minoring in dance. She quickly became part of the RSD family and assists with the Ballet 1 and Preballet classes at the studio.Part of a sisterhood united by dance, all four graduating seniors credited the personalized mentorship they received from their teachers. Referring to the studio as a second family, they said the rigorous dance training has helped them also grow personally and learn discipline and time management. All four will perform June 8 with their final curtain with the Ridgefield School of Dance June 9 at the Ridgefield High School.
