But before her sad passing, which was later confirmed as suicide, Anne stars in the new series of Worst Cooks series The Worst Cooks in America: Talented and Terrible.
The new season premiered Monday, July 28, and was hosted by Gabe Bertaccini and the late, great Anne.
Fans tuning into the premiere of the new season last night did so to honor the late celebrity chef – but some slammed the episode as “unwatchable”.
One person took to X to pen, “I dont think I can watch any more episodes. I just wanted to support Anne.
“I’m disappointed that they couldn’t do tributes to her throughout the episode. And this cast… cringe.”
A second added, “I lasted ten minutes. Unwatchable.”
“It’s almost unwatchable. If not for Anne I would turn it off now,” penned a third.
“I don’t mean any disrespect, but I kept this on as long as I did because out of respect for Anne. I literally kept asking myself, ‘Who are these people?’,” added a fourth.
‘IMPOSSIBLE TO WATCH’
A fifth person then wrote, “I really want to watch #worstcooksinamerica to see Anne Burrell’s last series, but the ridiculous overacting of this year’s contestants is going to make it impossible, I’m afraid.
“The show was good when it was actually about helping people learn to cook. Now it’s just shtick.“
While a sixth chimed in and wrote, “Sad that Anne Burrell’s “signature” show was Worst Chefs. It’s a circus and not even watchable.
“She was an ACTUAL chef @FoodNetwork.”
And a seventh said, “These contestants are too much, and I don’t mean that in a good way. If it wasn’t for seeing Anne Burrell, I would turn this off.”
At the end of the episode, a tribute flashed up on screen that said, “In Memoriam – Anne Burrell – 1969-2025.”
The suicide helpline details also appeared following her cause of death being revealed.
CAUSE OF DEATH REVEALED
This comes after a New York City Medical Examiner spokesperson told The U.S. Sun this week that Anne’s cause of death was “acute intoxication due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine, and amphetamine.”
Diphenhydramine and cetirizine are often used as allergy medications, while ethanol is commonly known as alcohol.
Amphetamine is a stimulant often used in ADHD medication like Adderall.
The official also confirmed the manner of death was suicide.
NYPD confirmed to The U.S. Sun that they received a 911 call on June 17 at 7:50am to an “aided female” inside the residence and upon arrival found a 55-year-old “unconscious.”
The NYPD told The U.S. Sun: “She was pronounced dead at the scene.”
According to reports, dozens of pills were discovered when she was found dead in her shower.
