Apple Juice Sold at Walmart Recalled Due to High Arsenic Levels

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has posted that Great Value Apple Juice sold at Walmart stores in several states has been recalled by Florida’s Refresco Beverages U.S. Inc. because it contains “arsenic above action level set in industry guidance (13.2ppb).” The government agency has not released images of the packaging yet, but it has relayed some information about the products in question.The recall affects Great Value 100% Juice Apple Juice sold in a six-pack of 8-ounce plastic bottles with UPC 0-78742-29655-5 and Best if Used by DEC2824 CT89-6.The juice was sold in the following states:Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, West Virginia, as well as Washington, D.C., and the territory of Puerto Rico.What To Do if You Have the Recalled Apple JuiceThe FDA has not posted specific actions consumers can take if they have bought the recalled Great Value juice, but as is common in such recalls, the product should not be consumed.
