Tunnel To Towers 9/11 Mobile Exhibit Coming To Easton

EASTON, CT — The Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s “9/11 Never Forget” Mobile Exhibit will visit Easton on August 8 and 9, bringing a high-tech, interactive tribute to the victims and heroes of the September 11, 2001 attacks.Hosted by the Staples Academy Foundation and the Congregational Church of Easton, the exhibit will be open to the public at no cost, with free timed-entry tickets available online. The 83-foot tractor-trailer transforms into a 1,100-square-foot mobile museum and features artifacts recovered from Ground Zero, steel beams from the Twin Towers, audio recordings of first responders, and documentary videos. Guided tours will be led by retired FDNY firefighters who offer personal accounts of the attacks and their aftermath.Created in 2013 by the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, the mobile exhibit is part of the Foundation’s mission to honor the sacrifice of FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller, who died on 9/11 after running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel with more than 60 pounds of gear in a selfless attempt to save others. The Foundation also supports first responders, Gold Star families, and catastrophically injured veterans through mortgage-free homes and other aid.To date, the exhibit has visited nearly every U.S. state and parts of Canada, welcoming more than 600,000 visitors. It aims to educate new generations about the impact of 9/11 and preserve the legacy of those who perished, including the 343 FDNY members who lost their lives that day.Timed entry hours are from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, and from noon to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9.
