Hawk Tuah Girl' Addresses 'Dancing With the Stars' Claim
By Billie Schwab Dunn
Haliey Welch, the social media star also known as "Hawk Tuah Girl," has said any thoughts about competing on Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) have gone "out the window" after she had Mark Cuban on her podcast.
Welch rose to fame earlier this year after appearing in a video by Tim & Dee TV, two YouTube creators who conduct interviews on the street. Responding to a question about what makes "a man go crazy in bed," Welch used the phrase "hawk tuah" to describe an intimate act and went viral in the process.
Since then, the internet star has launched her podcast, Talk Tuah, and for the episode released November 26, she hosted the Shark Tank investor. Cuban, who came in at eighth place on season five of DWTS in 2007, told Welch that he isn't "afraid to be embarrassed." He also said she should join the long-running dance competition show.
Newsweek emailed a spokesperson for Welch for comment on Wednesday outside of normal business hours.

Explaining that he beat Floyd Mayweather, Cuban said: "I got rhythm!"
"I actually, people thought I was just going to be a stiff, you know?" he continued. "I got out there, and I can dance. I got rhythm… It was the scariest thing I've ever done in my life. The scariest thing. Because when I did it, it was—this is a while back—it was live, OK? And this is when TV audiences were a lot bigger. 22 million people were watching, and it was just like the scariest thing I have ever done in my life."
Welch responded: "Well, if I had thoughts of doing it, that just went out the window. I will not be doing that."
However, Cuban said this shouldn't stop her from having a go.
"What I was going to say is, like, I always ask myself, 'If I'm 95 and I look back, is this something I would wish I would have done, or am I going to be p***** at myself for not having done it?" he said.
Welch's friend and occasional co-host Chelsea Bradford added: "That's exactly what I told you too. I was like, 'You're going to regret it.'"
Elsewhere in the episode, Cuban commended Welch for her authenticity and criticized those in the entertainment industry who aren't genuine.

"Just from the outside lookin' in, right, I think why you've been so successful is that you're authentic, you know? No, for real. You are who you are, right? You smile, you know, you don't try to push things on people," he said.
"Some people are always on. You know, you've been around those people now where they're just always, like, they have this image they're trying to put out there. And they're just not themselves. And when you talk to them, it's hard to talk to those people because they're always thinking about what angle they have to take and what angle you're trying to take.
"But I don't get that sense from watching the podcast and, you know, just little interactions we've had—you're authentic."
The businessman said the reason he wanted to appear on Welch's podcast is because she and her friends are "setting their own turf."
Welch celebrated an impressive milestone in October after her podcast hit 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. She shared her reaction to this achievement on the podcast's official Instagram account, where she unboxed a silver-colored plaque sent from YouTube.
"Just getting started ‼️" she captioned the post.
In the clip, Welch can be seen opening the box and taking out the plaque saying "Oh, s***." When the social media star was told what it was, she responded: "How do I get the gold one?"
