Cartoon Network is bringing the best of classic cartoons back to make this Christmas an even more special time for viewers, and one of those classics coming back is ‘The Flintstones.’ And for the very first time in 12 long years.
Cartoon Network – Plans To Surprise Viewers With ‘The Flintstones’ Marathon
There’s a lot of surprises and fun stuffs coming up this Christmas. For example, Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade debuted an enormous Wednesday float and parade, with Pugsley’s head on a platter, so to speak.
Not far off from the ultimate surprise leaderboard is Cartoon Network bringing back an old favorite in the way of a marathon run on Dec. 14. If this happens, it will be the first time that the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned will be showing viewers a glimpse of the modern stone age family.

What can fans expect from this return? Well, did you ever know that Christmas could be celebrated in the Stone Age? Did you ever wonder how it would be if they ever did?

At 2 p.m. ET, Cartoon Network will showcase a holiday episode of ‘The Flintstones’ from 1964, titled “Christmas Flintstone,” taken from Season 5. The plot follows Fred Flintstone (Alan Reed) as he fills in for Santa Claus.
An hour later, fans will be delighted with a showing of ‘The Flintstones Christmas Carol.’ It is said to be a pre-historic take on Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol.’
The new version of this classic Christmas tale will swipe famous ‘Christmas Carol‘ characters for characters from ‘The Flintstones.’ And with a little bit of that Flintstones humor, it will be like we never left the Stone Age.
I’m sure families will be happy to gather round to a ‘The Flintstones’ special since it’s a show that I’m sure can unite different generations. Prior to being surpassed by ‘The Simpsons’ in 1997, ‘The Flintstones’ was the most financially successful and longest-running network animated television series for three decades.
Cartoon Network will also air holiday versions of favorites like ‘Teen Titans Go!,’ ‘Scooby Doo,’ and ‘Adventure Time.’
