2 Killed, 16 Hurt In Weekend Shootings: Philadelphia Police
PHILADELPHIA — Two people died, and 16 others were hurt in nine separate shootings over the weekend, according to Philadelphia Police.Three people, ages 53, 42, and 22, were shot at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, at 11th and Ludlow streets, according to Fox 29.The 53-year-old and the 22-year-old are in stable condition, NBC10 reports. The 42-year-old is in critical but stable condition, according to Action NewsA 21-year-old man who was shot in the chest at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday on the 2400 block of Sough 62nd Street died, police said.Two others, both 22-year-old men, were shot in this incident, police said. One was shot in the buttocks and the other in the chest and arm. The former is in stable condition, while the latter is critical, police said.According to authorities, this shooting stemmed from a vehicle crash involving the victims and suspect. Police said the incident became violent after the crash and that a man was taken into custody.Also on Saturday, three people were shot at about 10:37 p.m. on the 900 block of South 58th Street, and one of the victims died.One person, a 23-year-old man, was killed after being shot multiple times in the body, police said. A 20-year-old male, was shot in the right leg and is in stable condition at Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center. Two others, both 20-year-old females, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and are in stable condition at Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center.No arrests have been made, police said.At about 9:40 p.m. Saturday, police were called to 1000 W. Hunting Park Ave. for a report of a shooting.There, police found a 28-year-old man suffering from two gunshots to the left side of his stomach. He was taken to a hospital, where he is in stable condition, police said.Police have not made any arrests or found any weapons.Two people were shot at about 3:01 a.m. Saturday on the 700 block of West Bristol Street. A 20-year-old man was shot multiple times throughout the body, and a 31-year-old man, was shot once in the left hip. Both were taken to a hospital, where they were most recently listed in critical condition.No arrests were made, and no weapons were found.Two others were shot at about 1:08 a.m. Saturday on the 600 block of North Preston Street. A woman whose ages was no given is in critical condition after being shot in in the head, police said. A 26-year-old man was also shot in the right ankle. He is in stable condition.No arrests have been made, and no weapons were found.On Friday, a 29-year-old man was shot multiple times in his body at about 11:40 p.m. on the 900 block of South 58th Street. Police said he is in stable condition.Police have not made any arrests or found any weapons in connection with the shooting.A 37-year-old man was shot at about 8:10 p.m. Friday, on the 1800 block of East Somerset Street. The man was struck in his left shoulder and was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.Again, no arrests were made, and no weapons were found.Lastly, police said a 37-year-old man was shot three times in his right arm at about 7:12 p.m. inside the front door walkway of a property on the 1600 block of South Taney Street.
