Emmerdale spoilers: Mystery over Samson’s ‘death’ deepens as he is stabbed
Things take a dark turn (Picture: ITV)
An argument at the HOP turns deadly in upcoming Emmerdale episodes as a new character causes chaos and Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) is left fighting for his life.
Samson has made a new friend, Josh – played by Osian Morgan who played deeply troubled Myles Massey in series 12 of Waterloo Road. Samson plans to drive around Europe with Josh.
Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) hopes that won’t happen, as Samson still has to pass his driving test and his car may not be road-worthy. Both hurdles are quickly overcome, with Samson passing his test and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) giving the car the seal of approval.
Samson and Josh head to the HOP to celebrate, and Josh starts flirting with Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson). She’s uncomfortable with his attention and points out she’s only recently been married. Josh won’t stop pestering her, so she decides to go home early.

A vile Josh starts abusing Matty (Picture: ITV)
An angry Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) calls Josh out on his behaviour, but things turn nasty. Josh is aware that Matty is trans and soon he unleashes transphobic abuse at Matty, using his deadname (the name he was given at birth but no longer uses) and taunting him.
When Matty refuses to be intimidated Josh follows him back inside to teach him a lesson, with Samson reluctantly following.
The situation escalates as Josh starts threatening Matty to give him the money in the till. Of course Matty refuses, and Josh pushes Samson into Matty – who happens to be holding a kitchen knife at the time.

Samson is stabbed and collapses to the floor bleeding heavily. Josh stands back and accuses Matty of deliberately attacking them with the knife.
Matty is terrified to realise that the situation looks bad for him as it’s his word against Josh’s if the worst happens to Samson.
Could Matty be heading to jail? And is Samson going to die?
Sam Hall has been reported to be leaving the show, although he appeared to shut this down by saying in a recent interview, ‘He’s definitely not being killed off! There are some good stories coming up for him.’
