The students began "hanging out" in the School Resource Office with Jones during the school day.One of the students stated that she would go to Jones' office instead of attending drawing class. Jones sent an email to the student's teacher asking that the student not be marked as absent as she was with Jones in his office. The two female students said that they would visit with Jones in his office two to three days a week. While there they would talk and have "random conversations about such things as food, issues with parents and siblings, friend groups and the social aspects of high school." One student explained the conversations as "talking about anything, like a friend who was my age.”The students also said that Jones would talk about a girl he was planning to ask out on a date.Jones showed the students photographs of the girl on his cell phone, in addition to showing them photographs of his newly purchased truck, his dog, and photos of Jones before he lost weight. In addition to these two students, an interview was also conducted with a 15-year-old female student of Abington High School. This victim provided information to the Montgomery County Detective Bureau concerning her interactions with Jones. The victim first met Jones in October of 2021 when she was a student at Abington High School and he was the School Resource Officer. The victim's friends were wishing her a happy birthday in the hallway at the school. Jones, seeing the interaction with other students, approached the victim and wished her a happy birthday, and introduced himself. For the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year, the victim and Jones would say hello to each other in passing. In the fall of the 2022-2023 school year, the interactions between the victim and Jones became longer in length. In the spring 2023, the victim began to visit Jones in the School Resource Office and "hang out” two to three days per week, the complaint states. At this time, the victim was 18 years old but she was still enrolled as a student at Abington High School. While visiting with Jones in his office, the two would have casual conversations about food, life in general, and her future plans, the complaint said. The conversations took a drastic turn after the victim attended senior prom on May 25, 2023 the complaint said. The victim explained that Jones attended the prom, but she was not sure if he was required to do so as part of his employment as a police officer. While at the prom, Jones commented on the victim's physical appearance and their conversation became more “flirty.”When the victim returned to school after prom, she continued to visit with Jones in his office. According to the complaint, the victim said that the conversation topics now revolved around sex. Jones continued to compliment the victim on her looks and her physical appearance. Jones directed the conversations toward the topic of sexual preferences, asking the victim if she "liked to be slapped, spit on or choked," according to the complaint. Jones told the victim that he wanted her to cook for him in his kitchen while she was naked. Jones also shared his sexual preference with the victim and explained what sexual acts he wanted to perform with her, the complaint said. Jones told the victim that he would like to have a relationship with her but they would have to wait until after graduation, the complaint said, which went on to say that Jones told the victim he was very tempted but that having a relationship with a student is not appropriate. Between the date of the prom (May 25, 203) and graduation (June 7, 2023), Jones asked the victim if the two were going to "link" as he did not want to deal with "dodging hangout stuff," the complaint said. The victim explained that she understands "link" to mean getting together to have sexual intercourse, the complaint states. The day after prom, May 16, 2023, the victim received a direct message on Instagram from Jones, asking the victim to see pictures taken at the prom. Shortly thereafter, the victim was at school when she saw Jones in the hallway. Jones took her phone and entered his name and cell phone number into her contacts. The cell phone number was the same one that was used to contact Jones during the consensual phone call on Feb. 12.The victim added that on May 31, 2023, she was at work when Jones came to see her. The visit was not preplanned nor did the victim know that Jones was planning to come see her. The victim said that Jones again made comments concerning her physical appearance and the conversation was "flirty."The victim graduated from Abington High School on June 7, 2023. During the graduation ceremony, the victim received her diploma and returned to her seat with other graduates. After sitting in her seat, the victim received a direct message on Instagram from Jones stating "Make sure you text me" with a smiley face emoji. Shortly after leaving the graduation ceremony, the victim and Jones began text messaging using their respective phone numbers. The communications between Jones and the victim continued until early January 2024.The victim added that on Christmas Day, she received a text message from Jones, who wrote "Merry Christmas! I was actually thinking about you today..... I'm patrolling your neighborhood." The victim asked, "You're in my neck of the woods? Jones responded that he was driving down her street and named the actual street name.According to the complaint, Jones told the victim that he was in a local park by her home and that she should stop by to see him. The complaint states that the interaction made the victim uncomfortable as she never told Jones where she lived nor had the two ever discussed her home address. The victim did not meet with Jones and explained that she was celebrating the holiday with family.Jones is free on unsecured bail and awaiting trial in Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas on the earlier felony charges of institutional sexual assault, endangering the welfare of children, and corruption of minors.
