“All of Them Are Lazy” – Khabib Nurmagomedov Responds After Joe Rogan and Royce Gracie Praise the Dagestani Camp
Joe Rogan has great admiration for the Dagestani fighters, and in his admiration, he and Royce Gracie recently spoke about the discipline that the Dagestani fighters have. However, Khabib Nurmagomedov seems to have a different view. The Dagestani fighter has himself claimed that the camp has become “lazy”.
On episode #156 of the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’, 56-year-old podcaster and the BJJ legend talked greatly of the Dagestani wrestlers. While Rogan claimed that the boys were quite impressive as wrestlers, Gracie commented that it wasn’t their strength, but discipline that made them so strong. But now, Nurmagomedov has made some revelations on the current state of the Dagestani camp.
Khabib Nurmagomedov calls the Dagestani camp ‘lazy’
It is not an unknown fact that the Dagestani fighters have to go through a lot. The camp has garnered quite a bit of appreciation from the world of mixed martial arts. Without a doubt, Rogan and Gracie were two in that bunch. Gracie had claimed, “So yeah, they don’t [care] about anything else. They’re just more, I think they’re more disciplined than this side of the world.”
However, ‘The Eagle’ has now disclosed that although the fighters in his team were becoming lazy. He took to Instagram and seemingly responded to the UFC color commentator with a picture of himself and a message in the caption. “I have seen many talented guys in the hall and almost all of them are lazy because things are easy for them, they are born gifted by God. Talent must be backed by hard work.” captioned the former UFC lightweight champ.

The Dagestani training camp is infamous for having the same hairstyle, no distractions, and keeping all of their focus on training and getting better. With Nurmagomedov as their head, one can imagine how strong the fighters would be once they complete their basic training. However, it all goes to waste without hard work. After all, that’s what ‘The Eagle’ believes. But why does Joe Rogan appreciate the Dagestani camp so much/
Joe Rogan reveals the true reason why he loves the Dagestani team
Previously in the JRE, the podcaster gave out the real reason why he had so much admiration for Nurmagomedov’s team. The JRE host pointed straight towards the ‘no distractions’ part of their life. He pointed out that some of the most dominant fighters in the world came from Nurmagomedov’s camp. It was because “They wear their hair all exactly the same way. They practice. All they care about is family, religion, training. They don’t chase girls, they don’t drink. They are just training constantly like insanely dedicated to their craft.”
But things did not end there! Rogan also set Nurmagomedov as an example. He revealed that despite being pretty rich, the former MMA champion led a simple and humble life. He drove a Toyota truck, lived in the same house, and focused almost all of his energy on the betterment of the fighters in his team. However, he chose an early retirement to spend some time with his family, only to return as Islam Makhachev gets ready to face Dustin Poirier at UFC 302.
