Where South Carolina stands with the top in-state prospects
GamecockCentral.com is diving into South Carolina’s positioning with the top 10 prospects in the Palmetto State for the 2025 class.
All listed rankings are per the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average of all four major recruiting services.
— The state’s top two prospects per the metric are both committed to Clemson. South Florence’s Amare Adams, a four-star defensive tackle, pledged to the Tigers in December. The Gamecocks at an ealier point in the process held a big lead, one that Clemson chipped away at during the 2023 football season.

Belton Honea-Path running back Marquise Henderson does not have an offer from South Carolina. He committed to Clemson over offers from Georgia Tech, NC State, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
— South Carolina is locked in a battle with the North Carolina Tar Heels for the state’s number three prospect, Rock Hill wide receiver Malik Clark.
UNC does have some buzz behind the scenes, but the Gamecocks are also right in there. This one is going to be a true fight, and one that Shane Beamer’s program really needs to win.
— Checking in at number four is Heathwood Hall defensive back Onis Konanbanny, who South Carolina offered in February.
It was admittedly a later start for the Gamecocks in this recruitment, and some other programs seem to have gotten ahead in that span. Once again, North Carolina is a major program to watch. The Tar Heels have a commitment from one of Konanbanny’s close friends, tight end Marshall Pritchett.
— The fifth-ranked prospect in the state is committed to the Gamecocks. Sumter EDGE Anthony Addison made his pledge to the program earlier this year and seems very solid.
— USC is also in great position for Gaffney offensive lineman Shed Sarratt, who checks in at number six in the top 10. GamecockCentral.com has submitted an On3 RPM pick in favor of the Gamecocks here.
— South Carolina has not yet offered numbers 7 and 8 in the top 10, Chamarryus Bomar (Byrnes) and LaDainnian Martin (Greer), respectively.
— Number 9 – South Florence wide receiver Jayden Sellers – was USC’s first commitment of the 2025 class.
— Westside quarterback Cutter Woods led his Rams squad to a state title over South Florence last season and subsequently committed to Wake Forest. Dowell Loggains does not yet have a quarterback commitment in the 2025 class, and Woods is one that he’s keeping an eye on; Loggains dropped by the school during the spring evaluation period.
