Jerry Jones makes $80 million decision over Dak Prescott’s Dallas Cowboys teammate as rebuild begins
THE Dallas Cowboys have made a major move in their rebuild for 2025.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter announced the news on X late Tuesday.
Defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa agreed to a new four-year deal.
It is worth $80 million overall but comes with $58 million guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus.
The move is a major splash ahead of free agency next week.
Jerry Jones’ son and Cowboys chief executive Stephen revealed the team’s strategy.
He was asked about Dallas’ rebuild at the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana last month.
“We’re gonna look at everything we can,” Jones said.
“We’re gonna be selectively aggressive.
“We’re gonna try to improve our football team — not try, we’re gonna improve our football team. We expect to have success next year.”
They have multiple free agents, including running back Rico Dowdle, and cornerback Jourdan Lewis, who won’t count toward the 2025 salary cap.
The Cowboys will also restructure the contracts of Prescott and CeeDee Lamb to create cap space.
The future of defensive leader Micah Parsons is also a key issue that needs to be addressed.
He is headed into the final year of his rookie deal worth $24 million this season.
“Obviously, our goals historically have been to try to fill as many of our musts and needs before the draft so you can pick the best player on your board,” Jones said.
“Didn’t get that totally accomplished last year, but certainly that’s always the goal.

“And every year is different in terms of what those musts and needs are.
“Then you also have to marry what’s in free agency vs. where the draft is heavy and where we can help ourselves in the draft.”
Dallas finished 7-10 last year and third in the NFC East.
They moved on from head coach Mike McCarthy when his contract ended in January.
Brian Schottenheimer was confirmed as the team’s new head coach.
