Prostitution, Money Laundering Charges Filed Following Morris Co. Spa Raid

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — An investigation into a Morris County massage parlor has led to prostitution and money laundering charges, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. Authorities investigated New Paradise Spa, located at 967 Route 46 in Kenvil, and found that the owners and operators of the business were involved in prostitution and money laundering, according to officials. Bumsuk Lee, 67, of Flushing, New York, owns the business and is accused of receiving “proceeds that were generated as a result of sex acts performed at the business by various employees,” authorities said.On Thursday, police executed a search warrant of the massage parlor, as well as Lee’s New York residence. Evidence collected included items “indicative of prostitution” and a large amount of U.S. currency. Lee was charged with money laundering and promoting prostitution. She was detained by New York police and is incarcerated at Riker’s Island pending extradition to New Jersey.Also charged was New Paradise Spa employee Sujin ‘Rose’ Huh, 43, with a summons complaint for engaging in prostitution. The investigation was conducted by the Roxbury Township Police Department, the NYPD Queens Vice Unit, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.This was the second massage parlor prostitution bust in the area that week, with three spas getting raided in Passaic County.The article Prostitution, Money Laundering Charges Filed Following Morris Co.
