Toyah’s Attacked
Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan)suggests that Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) should take little Alfie Franklin (Carter and Oakley Razak Townsend) to Sarah Platt’s (Tina O’Brien) party after his recent car incident.
This makes Abi furious as she realizes Toyah was the one who reported her to social services. Later, Toyah finds Harry Platt (Carter J. Murphy) watching a live streamed séance from the Platt house with Hope Dobbs (Isabella Flanagan), Ruby Dobbs (Billie Naylor), Lily Platt (Brooke Malonie), and Sam.
Toyah enters and tells the kids to leave, and soon after, Abi arrives, having heard about the séance-she confronts Toyah for the report, but then Toyah accidentally spills a bottle of wine.
Abi has a flashback of her son Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) covered in blood and has a panic attack; Toyah tries to help, but a confused Abi hits her.
The Platt House Catches Fire
A fire erupts at the Platt residence next week, drawing several residents into the chaos. Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), Abi, and David all find themselves under suspicion, but will they manage to come out of this ordeal unscathed?
David calls Andy Garland (Andrew Goth) to set a time for their scheme, but when Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) informs David about Sarah’s party, Logan Radcliffe (Harry Lowbridge) is eavesdropping.
Sarah fears that the gathering will make them an easy target, while David forges ahead with his plans, opting to skip the celebration.
Before long, someone shoves a burning rag through the Platts’ letterbox, prompting Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) to sound the alarm after catching a whiff of smoke.
Toyah Injured, Max Dies!
Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), along with Nick and Max Turner (Paddy Bever), goes into the house, worried that Lily might be inside.
Nick discovers Toyah unconscious on the floor, while Shona and Max go upstairs; after ensuring Lily is safe, Shona finds David outside and tells him that Max is stuck inside.
Suddenly, the house explodes, and as emergency services arrive, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) informs a paramedic that Toyah has smoke inhalation and a head injury.
Leanne approaches to check on Toyah, but Nick notices Leanne is drunk and sends her away; a firefighter discovers Max’s lifeless body, leaving David heartbroken as he’s taken to the hospital.
David Blames Himself
Shona questions David about the fire, and he insists he was with an old friend and had no involvement. Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) joins Shona in the waiting area, and Kit reveals that the fire was set intentionally.
David tells Kit that Logan is clearly responsible-David’s consumed by guilt over the events of the week, regretting his decision to steal money from Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).
When Andy stops by the salon looking for David, Sarah offers to relay a message-however, Andy shares a knowing glance with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) before walking out.
Todd then tells Sarah that Andy is an old acquaintance of Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) from prison, where he served time for insurance fraud, and they met at one of Paul’s raves.
David’s Arrested
Sarah and Nick confront David, accusing him of exploiting Andy’s knowledge about insurance scams-will David be honest with them? During an interview with Kit, David states he was with Andy in Denton when the fire occurred
However, when Andy denies seeing him, David gets arrested. Meanwhile, Leanne sits with Nick in the hospital waiting area, anxious for news about Toyah-Nick blames Leanne for the fire, but she insists she had nothing to do with it.
When she discovers a box of matches in her pocket, she starts to question if she might be responsible.
Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) is worried about Abi and shares her concerns with Kevin; Abi returns for her belongings, but when she hears Kevin and Debbie approaching, she sneaks out the back.
Many Worries About Abi
Kevin receives a call from Wendy Papadopoulos (Roberta Kerr) who tells him that Abi has picked up Alfie and seems anxious.
Kevin worries something bad has happened and informs Debbie that a jerry can is missing from the garage; after reviewing the CCTV footage, he spots a hooded person looking for it.
Abi later confesses to Kevin that she is experiencing hallucinations of Seb-meanwhile, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) confronts Leanne about her lies regarding her location.
Leanne admits she can’t remember where she was, only that she saw Toyah go into the house, and then she woke up in Victoria Garden with a box of matches.
Steve encourages Leanne to speak to the police, but will she-and who is really at fault?
Steve Hides A Secret
Meanwhile, Steve is wearing a look of guilt, but what could he possibly be hiding? When Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) mentions that she hasn’t been able to reach Amy (Elle Mulvaney), Steve jumps to the conclusion that their daughter must have stayed over at the party.
Leanne attempts to persuade Steve to indulge in a boozy afternoon with her, but her hopes are dashed when he declines.
Later, Amy explains to Steve and Tracy that she had sent multiple messages, but her phone died, she misplaced her car keys, and ended up wandering the streets all night. Feeling guilty, Steve claims he had an early night, but what was he really up to?
Carla Has News For Rob
At last, Carla Connor (Alison King) has a message for her brother, Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis). She informs Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) that they are conducting tests to determine if Rob’s kidney is compatible; if it turns out to be a match, a deposit will be necessary.
Carla then makes her way to the prison to speak with Rob, letting him know that the testing will take place there to assess his eligibility as a donor.
Rob is frustrated, having expected to be taken to a hospital for the procedure-could it be that Rob was secretly planning an escape?
