Kate Beckinsale Claps Back at 'Insidious Bullying' Amid Rampant Plastic Surgery Rumors
Kate Beckinsale has had it with the rampant plastic surgery rumors—and in her latest social media update, the actress clapped back at "insidious bullying" online. On Sunday, May 5, Beckinsale took to Instagram with two video clips and a long message for her critics."I hate talking about this because I hate adding to this conversation but I’m doing it because insidious bullying of any kind over time takes a toll," the 50-year-old Underworld actress wrote. "These videos might be 20 years apart -maybe more. Every time I post anything – and by the way, this has been the case since I was about 30 -I am accused of having had unrecognisable surgery /using Botox using fillers /being obsessed with looking younger, and it’s really such a tiresome and subtly vicious way to bully a person."In her Instagram caption, Beckinsale then set the record straight about plastic surgery, declaring, "I don’t actually do any of those things." She also noted that she even went through the trouble of "having a plastic surgeon categorically state that I don’t and haven’t."

Beckinsale explained that she is "not too concerned about aging" because her father died young. Additionally, she shared that she spent much of her teens and early 20s "absolutely crippled with severe anxiety and panic attacks"She added: "The fact that one of the major things I am bullied about is an assumption that I can’t handle the idea of getting older is so deeply ironic when my all consuming terror was that I never thought I’d even see the end of my 20s."After dissecting the differences between her appearance in the younger video versus the more recent one, Beckinsale acknowledged that her post will likely have little effect on the plastic surgery rumors. The actress concluded: "But I’m also posting it because whatever someone looks like, accusing them constantly of things they haven’t done, or being obsessed with youth when actually, currently I’m obsessed with surviving loss, is bullying. Please stop now."

I greatly appreciate you being open with these things, your health, and grief as much as you feel okay sharing. It feels relatable and inspiring. ❤ You would get shamed no matter what you did, as most women do."Someone else shared, "I hate that you have to go through this. I wish we lived in a world where you were just allowed to be brilliant."Meanwhile, yet another Instagram user wrote, "Sadly some people are mean and jealous as you are so gorgeous! Bullying is horrid and these people are deeply insecure. You are a wonderful, kind and thoughtful human."Next: Kate Beckinsale's Post-Surgery Photo Proves She Can't Take a Bad Picture
