757Teamz predictions: Unbeatens King’s Fork and Indian River meet in a key Southeastern District game

SUFFOLK — Since 2002, only three teams have won the Southeastern District title.
Oscar Smith has dominated it, winning at least a share of 15 titles.
The other two teams are King’s Fork and Indian River. The Bulldogs won the title outright last season and shared it with Oscar Smith in 2017. Indian River won it in 2018.
No. 5 King’s Fork (4-0, 3-0 district) and No. 7 Indian River (4-0, 3-0) meet on Friday with the district lead on the line. The losing team could fall out of the district race as each team still has to play Oscar Smith.
King’s Fork has won 14 regular-season games in a row, including 12 in the Southeastern District. And the Bulldogs have beaten Indian River the past two seasons, including in double overtime last season.
Both teams know what’s at stake on Friday.
“(Indian River) coach Brandon Carr, that’s my guy,” said King’s Fork coach Anthony Joffrion. “Those guys over there, they’re really well coached. That’s going to be a tough game, physical game. And it’s going to be at the Fork, so it’s going to be a great environment.”
Last week, the Bulldogs scored 22 unanswered points to come from behind and beat Suffolk rival Nansemond River.
Joffrion knows they can’t afford a slow start against Indian River.
“Overall, we have to start better,” he said. “Last week we didn’t start great, this week we didn’t start great.”
The Bulldogs are led by running back Javon Ford II, who has rushed for 420 yards and six touchdowns this season. He also scored the game-winning touchdown last season.

The Bulldogs also have quarterback Deandre Artis-Boone (420 yards, six TDs, three INTs), wide receivers Jahmel Mackey (10 receptions, 155 yards, two TDs), and Zy’Dar’eyus Wynn (11 receptions, 140 yards, four TDs).
But King’s Fork, which averages 42 points a game, might have to score and score often to keep up with Indian River — the Braves are averaging nearly 50 points a game.
Quarterback Kamarri Kirby (777 yards, seven TDs, one INT), running back Rayvon Moore (382 yards, eight TDs) and wide receiver Tre’vieon Slaughter (14 receptions, 259 yards, two TDs) lead Indian River.
