When the Grey’s Anatomy alum walked out from backstage, his typical blonde locks were nowhere to be seen.
He usually has wavy dirty blonde hair and full facial hair, which gave him the nickname “McSteamy” on the medical drama.
Eric, 51, instead had a bleached blonde buzz cut, as well as matching bleached stubble and a light mustache.
The new look is for his role in the upcoming Bad Boys film.
The hosts – Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos – stood and stared at Eric as he made his way to the stage before hugging him.
However, they did not say anything about his appearance as they sat down and started the interview.
Kelly, 53, however, did whisper a “wow” when she hugged the actor.
RIDE OR DIE
Bad Boys is a franchise of buddy cop movies that stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.
They play two detectives -Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett – in the Miami Police Department.
This is the first Bad Boys movie that Eric is starring in.
He plays the villain, who is also a banker in Bad Boys: Ride or Die.
The fourth movie in the franchise is being released in theaters on June 7.
The film also stars Vanessa Hudgens, Paola Nunez, Jacob Scipio, and more.
NATUALLY GREY
In 2014, Eric appeared on the red carpet for the film The Last Ship.
He sported gray hair there as well and told a reporter for USA Today that that is his natural hair color.
“My hair is naturally gray,” Eric said.
“That just happened because of my age.”
