The cast members will have their “minimum guarantees trimmed by 2 episodes next season,” according to Deadline.
However, FBI: International is not impacted by the change.
FBI will air its seventh season on CBS while FBI: Most Wanted will have a reduced sixth season.
FBI already earned a three-year pickup, but it is not clear if the reduced seasons will be for all three.
The spinoff show each got two year renewals.
International is not affected because half of its cast are international actors and they only have four remaining series regulars who are “not as established,” the outlet reported.
FBI and Most Wanted have larger regular casts and film in the United States.
Although cutting down episodes does not affect the casts’ per episode pay, it does reduce their overall compensation at the end.
The CBS shows typically have more than 20 episodes per season.
However, season six of the motherboard show only had 13.
‘A POWERFUL FORCE’
Amid the news of the multi-year renewals, the president of CBS spoke on the shows.
“The All-FBI Tuesday is a powerful force to be reckoned with on our primetime schedule,” Amy Reisenbach told The Wrap.
“Dick Wolf and the talent in front of and behind the camera on all three series continue to deliver top-notch storytelling, riveting action, and intrigue that has captivated a dedicated fanbase steadily across multiple seasons. We are excited to see what next season holds for all these heroic characters.”
FBI producer Dick Wolfe also spoke on his excitement about the renewal.
