Kicking off NBC’s fall changes, the network has announced two new comedy blocks on the weekly schedule.
The new blocking will see a work-oriented comedy block at 8PM on Tuesdays, and a family comedy at 8PM on Fridays.
The network also shared that the “very stable schedule” will center on new shows, according to Deadline.
The Tuesday block will be filled by St. Denis Medical, a comedy set in a hospital.
On Fridays, Reba McEntire will star in new show Happy’s Place, which sees the musician playing the part of Bobby, who inherits her dad’s restaurant only to find out that she’ll co-manage the place with her secret half-sister.
A third new show, Brilliant Minds, has also been announced.
The medical drama will star American Horror Story actor Zachary Quinto as neurologist Dr. Oliver Wolf.
CANCELED
While NBC has added new shows to its roster, one other comedy was recently ditched by the network.
NBC canceled Extended Family after just one season, with the final of its 13 episodes having aired in March.
The short-lived show centered on exes Jim and Julia, and how they dealt with life and parenting after divorce.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, fans were quick to slam the network’s sudden cancelation of the show.
“How does NBC expect to rebuild their once-impenetrable sitcom reign if they keep canceling all of the new ones after only one season? What happened to actually investing in your shows?” one viewer raged.
“I swear to God! It’s like NBC don’t want viewers!!!” said a second.
Prior to the news, Extended Family creator Mike O’Malley claimed he had high hopes to return for a second season.
These price changes let Peacock continue to create the best experience for its viewers, remain competitive in the marketplace and deliver unique content across all genres.

“I think our ratings have been good. Everyone in our business knows how hard it is to find stories, write stories, write episodes. The cast is unbelievable,” he said.
PRICE HIKE
Alongside NBC’s ever-changing schedule, fans have also taken umbrage with one of the network’s streaming services.
Last month, it was announced that a price increase for Peacock subscriptions was underway.
Peacock subscribers can expect to pay $2 more per month, or $20 more for a yearly subscription.
The change will kick off in summer, with new members paying the higher rate from July while existing customers’ bills will be bumped up in August.
The price hike seems linked to the 2024 Olympics being held in Paris this summer, for which Peacock has streaming rights.
Despite the amount of content on offer by the service, many fans on X didn’t think the bill increase was justified.
“Stop raising the price of Peacock! People will cancel. I can’t afford to pay higher and higher. It’s taking advantage of people. Damn, you’re [greedy],” one social media user raged.
“They need to calm down. Their service isn’t all that,” said a second.
Peacock replied to one fan query about the new prices, and clarified, “These price changes let Peacock continue to create the best experience for its viewers, remain competitive in the marketplace and deliver unique content across all genres.”
