Mike Tyson could still be pulled from Jake Paul fight despite new date being agreed

Mike Tyson could yet be forced to withdraw from his upcoming fight with Jake Paul, despite a new date for the bout being agreed. It was confirmed last week that Tyson and Paul will now be fighting on November 15 after the boxing legend's recent ulcer flare up.Tyson seems happy with that development, with the 57-year-old insisting he's ready to return to the ring. However, there's still a chance he could be forced to withdraw.TDLR Head of Communications Tela Mange, speaking to World Boxing News, has said there's a possibility of that happening if Tyson's 'health or safety could be compromised'.He said: “They [Most Valuable Promotions, Paul’s team] have requested November 15, and we have approved that date.“At this point, the fight remains an eight-round contest over two-minute rounds with 14-ounce gloves.”Mange added: “As I think I’ve said before, the Department will stay informed about the health of the combatants and will obtain more information if needed to protect their health and safety.“In addition to pre-licensing medical screening, TDLR’s ringside physicians also conduct pre-fight physicals before the event."TDLR rules state that licensure does not automatically authorize an individual to participate in an event if their health or safety could be compromised.”Tyson has confirmed he's set to return to training imminently. And he's also adamant he's got what it takes to reign supreme.“Different date, same fate. I’m going to knock out Jake Paul," he said.“Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly. "I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best-rescheduled date for all parties.“While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight."Jake Paul is getting knocked out. Watch this in person on Friday, November 15, at AT&T Stadium or live on Netflix.”Meanwhile, when it looked as though Tyson would be forced to pull out of the fight, Darren Till offered to step in.However, speaking to talkSPORT, he's now revealed he didn't hear back.LATEST SPORTS NEWS:Tyson Fury 'no longer has the strength' and 'gets weak' ahead of Oleksandr Usyk rematchGareth Southgate 'particularly impressed' by England star ahead of Euro 2024 opener against SerbiaCarlos Alcaraz makes feelings clear on Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic records after French Open triumph"Obviously I mean I'm not going to sit here and say I wouldn't fight him," Till said."You fight Jake Paul you earn a lot of money and this is prize fighting."The Jake Paul fight, he called me out when the Chavez Jr fight got made.Jake’s new wake date.
