Motorcyclist Who Died In Brookville Crash Was Glen Cove Man: Update
BROOKVILLE, NY — The 28-year-old who died Thursday when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a dump truck on Cedar Swamp Road has been identified as Joffre Sierra-Chalen of Glen Cove, Nassau County police reported in an update.Detectives said at 5:08 p.m. Sierra-Chalen was headed north on a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle when he struck a 2000 Hino dump truck being operated by a 55-year-old man that was turning onto Cedar Swamp Road from westbound Hemlock Drive. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a Jericho Fire Department paramedic. No other injuries were reported, police said.A safety check was performed on the dump truck at the scene, police said.
