Toy Gun Prompts Investigation at Central Bucks Middle School

BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — A report of a weapon, which turned out to be a toy gun, prompted a school team response at a Central Bucks middle school on Thursday In an email to parents, Holicong Principal Kevin T. Shillingford said after receiving a report of a weapon on school property, the school team responded immediately, an investigation was conducted, and it was found that the reported weapon was a toy gun.The Buckingham Township Police and School Resource Officer Chris Shaffer assisted the school in its investigation to ensure the safety of students and staff, the principal wrote. "While there was no threat in this situation, it is important to remind your students that having replicas of weapons is a violation of our district weapons policy 218.1 and there are serious consequences for bringing these on school property," Shillingford wrote to parents.
