Top 10 NFL Draft Pick Alumni from Bishop Gorman HS in Las Vegas
Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, has been blessed with generations of football talent. As of August 2024, they are seventh among the nation’s Top 25 high school football teams after defeating Kahuku and St. Thomas Aquinas.
The current crop of Gaels continues the legacy of those who came before them. Some of these football icons from Bishop Gorman have established their legend in college football and the pros.
Therefore, here are the ten best football athletes from this private Roman Catholic preparatory school based on their NFL draft selections.
1. OT Ronnie Stanley
Draft position: 2016 Round 1, Pick 6 (Baltimore Ravens)College: Notre Dame
Stanley was a Consensus All-American for the Fighting Irish before joining the Ravens. He has been a stable presence in Baltimore’s offensive line, helping them become constant postseason contenders. Stanley earned Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro selections in 2019 after giving up zero sacks in 912 snaps at left tackle. Those numbers earned him an 88.5 overall mark from Pro Football Focus.
2. WR Rome Odunze
Draft position: 2024 Round 1, Pick 9 (Chicago Bears)College: Washington
The Bears got an elite wide receiver in Odunze, a Consensus All-American in 2023. His efforts propelled the Huskies to a CFP National Championship appearance against the Michigan Wolverines. Before reaching that game, Odunze compiled 81 receptions for 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns. If he can carry that production level to the NFL, Chicago is in for a treat. However, as of Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season, this Bishop Gorman product has three catches for 44 yards.
3. RB DeMarco Murray
Draft position: 2011 Round 3, Pick 71 (Dallas Cowboys)College: Oklahoma
Murray was a two-time First-Team All-Big-12 member for the Sooners before the Cowboys made him the sixth running back selected in the 2011 draft. While he played in only seven NFL seasons, he was the 2014 NFL Offensive Player of the Year after compiling 392 carries for 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns. After playing professionally, he returned to Oklahoma as their running backs coach.
4. WR Cedric Tillman
Draft position: 2023 Round 3, Pick 74 (Cleveland Browns)College: Tennessee
Tillman was a three-star prospect who committed to the Volunteers in 2018. Five years later, he declared for the NFL Draft, wherein he became the Browns’ first selection after trading their first three picks to the Houston Texans and New York Jets. Tillman finished his rookie season in Cleveland with 21 receptions for 244 yards, a far cry from the 1,081 yards and 12 touchdowns during his junior year with Tennessee.
5. SAF Jaden Hicks
Draft position: 2024 Round 4, Pick 133 (Kansas City Chiefs)College: Washington State
Hicks might have gotten the Chiefs’ attention after completing the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds. The Las Vegas native has used his speed to compile 94 solo tackles, 3.5 sacks, and three interceptions in three seasons with the Cougars. Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo could use him to compensate for Mike Edwards and L’Jarius Sneed’s departures.
6. QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson
Draft position: 2023 Round 5, Pick 140 (Cleveland Browns)College: UCLA
Thompson-Robinson left the Bruins as a two-time Second-Team All-Pac-12 member with 10,710 passing yards and 88 touchdowns. Those accolades prompted the Browns to gamble on him in the fifth round of the 2023 draft. He dazzled audiences during the preseason, making him Deshaun Watson’s lead backup. Thompson-Robinson finished his rookie season with 60 completions for 440 yards, a touchdown, and four interceptions.
7. TE Brevin Jordan
Draft position: 2021 Round 5, Pick 147 (Houston Texans)College: Miami (FL)
Jordan was an All-ACC member in all three seasons with the Hurricanes, finishing with 105 catches for 1,358 yards and 13 touchdowns. He finished his rookie season in Houston with 20 receptions for 178 yards and three touchdowns. As of the 2023 season, this Bishop Gorman alum has five career touchdowns and 525 receiving yards. Jordan will be Dalton Schultz’s lead backup for 2024, edging Cade Stover and Dalton Keene.
8. CB Kyu Blu Kelly
Draft position: 2023 Round 5, Pick 157 (Baltimore Ravens)College: Stanford
Kelly followed in his father’s footsteps, 2002 NFL interceptions co-leader Brian Kelly. He was a Second-Team All-Pac-12 selection with 69 solo tackles and two interceptions in 2021 and 2022. However, his NFL career hasn’t taken off. After the Ravens waived him, Kelly played eight games for the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, and Washington Commanders.
9. LB Edefuan Ulofoshio
Draft position: 2024 Round 5, Pick 160 (Buffalo Bills)College: Washington
Ulofoshio left the Huskies as a First-Team All-Pac-12 member, tallying 62 solo tackles (eight for losses), three sacks, an interception, and a defensive touchdown. The Alaska-born linebacker gets a chance to make an impact in the Bills defense, especially after losing All-Pro linebacker Matt Milano indefinitely. Ulofoshio finished his six-year college football career with 153 solo tackles, seven sacks, eight pass deflections, and two fumble recoveries.
10. WR Jalen Nailor
Draft position: 2022 Round 6, Pick 191 (Minnesota Vikings)College: Michigan State
Nailor had 86 catches for 1,453 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in four seasons with the Spartans. The Vikings selected him in 2022, mainly as a special teams contributor. He finished his rookie season in Minnesota with nine catches for 179 yards and a touchdown in 15 games. However, his playing time dropped to six games in 2023, leading to three catches for 29 yards. As of Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season, Nailor has 23 receptions for 283 yards and three touchdowns.
