No gathering, whether that’s a birthday bash or a BBQ party in the garden, is complete without a variety of beverages – and these Sainsbury’s deals are perfect for quenching thirst on a budget.
The delighted customer, Rory Sherwood, took to Facebook to inform other bargain hunters about the incredible offers, including orange juice for spare change.
According to Rory, who shared the news on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, the popular supermarket had slashed the prices across their drinks section.
Some of the goodies, he revealed in the post, had been cut to as little as a mere 10p, saving shoppers a fortune on their bill.
”Check your local Sainsbury’s drinks aisles as I’ve just found some bargains in mine!” said Rory who’d spotted the cut-price buys in the Chippenham branch.
Amongst the cheap deals he’d managed to snap up was a 24-pack of Pepsi Max Mango flavour, which cost just 25p a can, as well as J20 four-pack for 50p a bottle of the refreshing drink.
All chuffed with his incredible haul, the shopper revealed that he’d also purchased Cawston Orange Juice for a purse-friendly 10p a pack, grabbing four in total.
In the snaps, where he also shared the receipt, Rory revealed he’d bought Bottlegreen Raspberry cordial, as well as the orange-flavoured version, both for 50p.
These 500ml bottles typically retail for a whopping £4.25 – so if cordials are your thing, make sure to check out the local Sainsbury’s now.
Other fabulous bargains included Tenzing Energy drink for an afforddable 25p.
The bevvy, which usually goes for £1.60, is a plant-based sparkling drink with natural caffeine, electrolytes from Himalayan rock salt and Vitamin C – perfect to get you through a hot summer day.
Advising others to not sleep on the offer, Rory wrote in the caption: ”Happy hunting!”
Close to a staggering 200 people gave the post a like, as dozens flocked to comments to tag their friends and family.
How to save on your supermarket shop
THERE are plenty of ways to save on your grocery shop.
You can look out for yellow or red stickers on products, which show when they’ve been reduced.
If the food is fresh, you’ll have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.
Making a list should also save you money, as you’ll be less likely to make any rash purchases when you get to the supermarket.
Going own brand can be one easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills too.
This means ditching “finest” or “luxury” products and instead going for “own” or value” type of lines.
Plenty of supermarkets run wonky veg and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they’re misshapen or imperfect.
For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering boxes of 5kg of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.
If you’re on a low income and a parent, you may be able to get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too.
Plus, many councils offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.
One couldn’t wait to get their hands on the orange juice, writing: ”Cawston 10p, that’s brilliant, hope mine has it.”
Another was left disappointed, informing other residents of the area: ”Never in Tunbridge Wells either.”
”Off to find myself some bottlegreen,” someone else had planned a trip to their branch.
”Nice one! I love that Mango Pepsi,” a foodie chimed in.
