Memorial To Fallen Brick Police Officers Unveiled

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township police and officials unveiled a new monument in front of the municipal building on Tuesday honoring township police officers who have died while serving the township. The monument — a uniformed Brick Township police officer giving a salute — was an eight-year project of the Brick Police Benevolent Association No. 230 that started fundraising in 2016, officials said. The ceremony on Tuesday included family members of five officers whose names were the first inscribed at the monument. Those officers are: Patrol Officer Richard Harper, Badge No. 21, End of Watch 05/04/1978Lt. Anthony Sierchio, Badge No. 51, End of Watch 08/09/1994Lt. Thomas McNelis, Badge No. 60, End of Watch 01/28/1996Patrol Officer John Lesemann Jr., Badge No. 182, End of Watch 08/30/1999Patrol Officer Kristopher DeMarco, Badge No. 213, End of Watch 01/02/2016The PBA Monument Fund Committee, formed in 2016 and chaired by Sgt.
