Artur Beterbiev Trainer: All About Boxing Team Training Him to Beat Dmitry Bivol
Artur Betervbiev is a waking specimen of what it could be when you have honed your strengths to perfection. The Russian Canadian fighter has done it all in his fighting career. The list is long—one amateur world championship, an unblemished record in the professional career, and three gold straps at 175. And he hasn’t stopped yet.
While he is the face with all the fame and gold, he is not the only one responsible for his success. He has his trainer and his cornermen to thank for. If you want to know about how a bunch of people carved out a beast out of a fighter from Khasavyurt, you can scroll below.
Who is Artur Beterbiev’s coach?
Beterbiev, 39, has been grateful to have Marc Ramsay as his trainer. Ramsey has ensured Beterbiev polishes his skills and adopts an aggressive, hard-hitting fighting style, which helps him reach unscaled heights. Notably, Ramsay was an amateur boxer who became a coach in 1995. What pushed him to fame was his stint with the Canadian national team from 2000 to 2004 and in 2010, where he was behind Jean Pascal‘s run to the Athens Olympic Games and eventually to the WBC light heavyweight world title. But what made the Canadian trainer a household name was his association with Beterbiev.

Ramsay has been all praise for his star disciple, Beterbiev. Speaking fondly of him after he won the IBF title in 2017, he declared, “He’s very disciplined.” Ramsay continued, “When it’s time to train, he trains. It’s not magic that he has become a world champion. This guy’s special. Every single thing he does in his life, it’s for his boxing career. Everything he puts in his mouth… the hours he sleeps. He’s always in great shape.” But Ramsay is not alone in his endeavor.
