Luca Guadagnino Reportedly Set To Direct New ‘American Psycho’ Movie
Luca Guadagnino is supposedly set to direct a new adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' American Psycho.Deadline reports that the filmmaker is "in final negotiations" to helm the upcoming version, which will also see Scott Z. Burns write the script. Sources claim that the Challengers director's project will not be a remake of Mary Harron's 2000 American Psycho starring Christian Bale, but rather a brand new adaptation of Ellis' novel. Lionsgate has supposedly been "trying to crack" the IP for a while now, and studio executives felt like the filmmaker was the "perfect choice to bring a fresh take" to the project.“We are thrilled to add another elite filmmaker to our upcoming slate,” said Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson. “Luca is a brilliant artist, and the perfect visionary to create a whole new interpretation of this potent and classic IP.”Stay tuned for an official trailer and release date.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
