BEVERLY, MA — The historic Cabot Theater of Beverly will use the nearly $1.5 million raised during its 2024 "Big Night" to restore the entrance of the century-old theater to its original 1920s style "grandeur" as well as upgrade artist and patron spaces to enhance the overall live experience. The theater said on Friday it raised $1.5 million during the May 11 gala featuring comedian Jay Leno."We are truly both humbled and in awe of the outpouring of love and generosity from our supporters," Cabot Executive Director of The Cabot. "Big Night has always felt like a message of love to The Cabot from our North Shore community, but this year we were just blown away."The SV Design Capital Improvement Fund is named after Big Night honorees Thad S. Siemasko and SV Design. Siemasko is one of the "founders" who helped save the theater from an uncertain future in 2014."The Cabot's extraordinary transformation over the last nine years is a result of countless hours and donated services from Thad and his amazing team at SV Design," said Soward. "We couldn’t be more grateful to Thad, his team, and everyone who has generously contributed to the fund–every dollar raised will ensure The Cabot remains for decades to come, bringing top quality arts and entertainment to all."(Scott Souza is a Patch field editor covering Beverly, Danvers, Marblehead, Peabody, Salem and Swampscott.
