Dave Hester has come and gone more than once over the years on Storage Wars. This was further impacted after the “Mogul” faced recent health issues, including a stroke. Since then, fans are wondering if they’ve already seen the last of Hester on the reality series.
Dave Hester First Took A Break From Storage Wars For Season 4
On Storage Wars, Dave Hester, also known as “the Mogul,” first appeared during the first season. After taking a break from season four, he returned with the fifth season.
Over the years, Hester had been known for operating various businesses, including a thrift store, a gallery, and an auction house. During his time on the show, he was known for antagonizing other buyers, and raising bids when someone wanted to buy a unit. He also became known for his catchphrase, “Yuuup!,” with him famously wearing a hat with the word printed on it.

Hester would later leave the show with the twelfth season, citing health reasons at the time. At the time, this even included a stroke. Thanks to this, fans have been wondering if they will ever see Hester return to the series.
According to TMZ, Hester was recently seen during a clip for Storage Wars, which is currently in its sixteenth season. Hester appeared at an auction. At the time, he kept a low profile, and wasn’t initially recognized by the other stars of the show.
However, once Hester started shouting his signature catchphrase, the other stars looked around and realized he was there. This included series stars Rene Nezhoda, Ivy Calvin and Brandi Passante. Hester could even be seen wearing his signature “Yuuup!” hat.

True to form, Dave continued to raise his bed. The other stars weren’t exactly happy to see him, comparing his voice to “the most annoying sound in the world” and “something I was hoping I’d never hear again.”
For his part, Hester tried to take it all in stride. As he shared in a confessional, “Aww, did all my old buddies miss their pal Dave,” before delivering his famous catchphrase.
Dave’s return saw him end the auction with the highest bid. In an aside, he shared, “I missed you all too. Nothing makes you feel more loved than a welcome like that.”
Storage Wars‘ Season 16 previously premiered on June 7, 2025. Since then, new episodes air on Saturdays on the A&E network at 9 PM ET.
