Iconic Boy Band Reveals Details Behind Split Over a Decade Later
The Jonas Brothers broke fans' hearts when they called it quits over ten years ago.Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas temporarily parted ways in 2013 following years of success—and challenges.Now, the brothers are opening up more about those hardships.In an upcoming episode of Mythical Kitchen's Last Meals series, exclusively debuted by Billboard, host JoshScherer asks 32-year-old Nick—who was "the impetus behind" the split—if he has "any residual guilt" or "any resentment.""Not guilt, so much as, in reflection, I can definitely see how I could have more lovingly communicated something that needed to be said," Nick responds."It's often how we say things that matters more than what we're saying," the "Jealous" singer continues as Joe, 35, and Kevin, 37, nod in agreement. "I think we all knew … it had run its course. I just didn't know how to maturely articulate that and lovingly do that."Joe then addresses the breakup, saying, "I think it needed to happen."He adds that he thinks the brothers "all grew from that experience so much."The DNCE lead singer continues, "We were having such a difficult time just being real with each other back then. "Now it's like we can communicate way better, because we don't need to be scared to have tough conversations."Kevin speaks about the trio's strong brotherly bond in the interview, saying, "I think when there's a true need, we always band together and we come to each other, and I think we're brothers first. I know that's a little cliché to say, but we truly are."Despite their struggles, the Jonas Brothers reunited in 2019 and released their hit single "Sucker" that March, leading up to their comeback album, Happiness Begins, which was released that June.In May 2023, they released their sixth studio album, The Album. The brothers are dropping their seventh studio album, Greetings From Your Hometown, on August 8, 2025.The full episode of Last Meals featuring the Jonas Brothers is set to be released on July 31.
