Elon Musk Questions Why Assassination Attempts Target Trump—Not Biden or Kamala Harris
Billionaire Elon Musk added his voice to the ongoing conversation surrounding the second attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. On Sunday, Musk questioned why similar threats haven’t been made against President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris, sparking widespread debate on social media.
The incident occurred while Trump was enjoying a round of golf at his West Palm Beach, Florida club. According to authorities, the U.S. Secret Service opened fire on Ryan Wesley Routh, an armed man with a rifle spotted less than 500 yards from Trump. Routh attempted to flee the scene in a black Nissan but was quickly apprehended. Trump, meanwhile, was swiftly moved to safety inside the clubhouse by Secret Service agents.

This marks the second alleged assassination attempt on Trump in just two months, raising concerns about the security surrounding the former president. Social media reactions poured in following the event, with one user asking, “Why [do] they want to kill Donald Trump?”
Musk, who owns the social media platform where the discussion took place, responded by pointing out the lack of similar attacks on the country’s current leadership. “And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala,” Musk wrote, a comment that quickly ignited both support and criticism online.
Musk’s statement prompted a flurry of reactions, with some agreeing with his implication of a media bias or political disparity, while others condemned his comments as fueling divisive rhetoric.
