VEGAS RESTAURANT ROUNDUP: Popular British Pub Suddenly Brexits, Lavo Italian Taking a Riposo
Crown & Anchor, a British pub beloved by ex-pats and locals for nearly 30 years, is no more.
No advance notice or reason was given for the closure, only a brief and vague note taped to its locked front door on July 2. In fact, the next day, the pub’s Facebook page eerily posted the following business-as-usual message…
Either Crown & Anchor preschedules its Facebook posts, or no one has broken the bad news to its social media person yet. (Image: Crown & Anchor/Facebook)
Crown & Anchor opened near Tropicana Avenue and Maryland Parkway in 1995, and was a favorite to grab a pint, lose money on video poker, and catch soccer (sorry, football) on television 24 hours a day.
Another Crown & Anchor (referred to as “Little Crown & Anchor Pub”) remains open at 4755 Spring Mountain Road.
